Early mornings and late afternoons reveal the Tramuntana’s wildlife at its liveliest, offering walkers a chance to encounter creatures well adapted to these rugged hills. While traversing trails near Valldemossa or Deia, keep an eye out for the island’s endemic species, such as the Balearic lizard darting over sun-warmed rocks. Birds are a constant presence here—golden eagles patrol the skies, and chiffchaffs and blackcaps flit among the pines and olive groves.

In quieter woodland areas, you might spot rabbits or the occasional hedgehog rustling through undergrowth.
